Low Sugar Peach Pie

Delicious low sugar peach pie with creamy healthy low fat ingredients.Peach Pie is a favorite in the south but, there are many people across the country who love this sweet pie as well. Unfortunately, the high sugar content of the traditional Peach Pie makes it almost impossible for people who are watching their sugar content to eat.

Replacing the sugar content with sugar substitute works well for some but, the after taste of these artificial sweeteners are unbearable to many. But, that doesn't mean that those who are watching their sugar can enjoy a version of this traditional fruity pie. In fact, for cream pie lovers this Low Sugar version may be even better than the more traditional version.

Low Sugar Peach Pie-Creamy


1- 9 inch pie crust prebaked golden brown

2 packages fat free sugar free vanilla pudding

3 cups cold fat free evaporated milk

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 ½ cups peeled pitted and diced peaches pureed

2 fresh ripe peaches peeled, pitted and cut into slices

Low Sugar Peach Pie:


In a large bowl combine pudding mix, cinnamon, and fat free evaporated milk until smooth and thick, add the pureed peaches and blend everything well.

Line the bottom of the baked pie crust with the peach slices (saving 4 or 5 for the top of the pie) Pour the pudding mix over the sliced peaches and refrigerate before until time to serve. When serving take the pie out of refrigerator and place the additional peach slices on top of the pie in a decorative manner.

This pie comes out a beautiful golden color due to the puree and it tastes peachy keen. It really does make for a beautiful looking dessert and tastes as good at it looks. It can be served with low fat whipped topping if you desire but, it tastes incredibly rich just as is.


Some peaches are more when they are pureed have more liquid than others. Having an extra box of pudding mixture on hand will allow you to thicken the mixture to the right consistency for your pie. You can also add the peach puree slowly and stop if you think the pudding mixture is becoming too thin.

If you want to add a little extra punch to this pie try adding a cup of walnuts or pecans to the pudding mixture and then sprinkling some on top of the pie.

This pie makes a great alternative to traditional holiday pies that are high in sugars and fats and offers a healthier option to those who are watching both their fat and sugar intakes. Best of all it takes little time to make.

This is a wonderful pie that can be served in either the summer or the fall and you can even use frozen peaches in place of fresh should the need arise. However when using frozen peaches be sure you defrost and strain them before pureeing them as the excess water will make the puree too thin.
