When trying to watch your diet it often becomes important to keep track of the calories in food or at least those foods you eat the most often. There are a couple of ways for you to keep track of the number of calories in the food you are eating or want to eat.

Make a list of those foods that you really enjoy and want to continue to eating. Then look up the calories in each of those foods and write it next to food and post the list where it is readily available. Remember if you list something like spaghetti with meat sauce that the calories may vary depending on the ingredients so try and make adjustments for this.

If you want to keep count of the calories you are consuming the best way in by using a food diary. While food diaries can be boring to maintain doing so properly will give you an accurate account of how many calories you are consuming each day.
