Heart Healthy Low Sugar

Yummy heart healthy low sugar low fat chicken pasta and asparagus and with over 100 sugar free low fat recipes. If you are looking for a low sugar recipe that is heart healthy and tastes great then one really tasty treat is pasta.

The only problem with pasta though is that sometimes it can seem a little bland, and so it is important to spice it up a little with some different taste combinations that will bring out extra flavor sensations that are not in the original recipe.

One great way of doing that is through the addition of asparagus and chicken and also a touch of garlic to intermingle the three flavor combinations and really amplify the effect of each of them.

Heart Healthy Low Sugar Low Fat Chicken Recipe:

Here is what you are going to need to make this recipe:

1 and a half cups of finely chopped asparagus

1 and three quarter cups of a quality organic Penne Pasta

2 or 3 cloves of garlic (or to taste – personally I like more!)

7 ounces of free-range, skinless, boneless chicken breasts that have been cubed into approximately 1 inch or so chicken cubes

1 and a half cans of diced tomatoes

Fresh Basil

1 and a half ounces of a high quality soft goats cheese

1 and a half tablespoons of Parmesan Cheese

The first thing that you need to do is to bring a large pan of salted water to the boil and then gently simmer the Penne Pasta in it.

Heart Healthy Low Sugar Low Fat Chicken Recipe:

Cook the pasta until it is Al-Dente (Firm Bite). For most Penne Pasta’s this usually takes around 11 minutes, though it will vary depending on the thickness of the pasta that you buy. If you are cooking a meal for a large number of people and are trying out a new pasta for the first time, then it is often worth first testing out the cooking times of the new pasta with a kitchen timer and a small batch first, because otherwise you risk ruining a much larger batch later if you overcook it and make the pasta too soggy (which tastes awful).

You need to take a second pot and place a steamer basket over it with boiling water beneath in order to steam cook the asparagus (this helps to retain all the great vitamins and minerals in the asparagus, and makes it especially heart healthy). This should normally take no longer than a couple of minutes.

Now take a saucepan and lightly cook the chicken cubes until they are golden brown (this will normally take about 7 minutes), and when it is cooked, add in the diced tomatoes, fresh basil and the garlic cloves (that you should crush before adding) and stir it all through together until it is nicely cooked through and bubbling away on the stove.

Now take out two plates that have been warmed and place the al-dente penne pasta on the plate, and spoon over the tomatoes and chicken mixtures, crumble up the goats cheese and add this on, and then finish off by lightly sprinkling parmesan over the top for a delicious heart healthy, low sugar recipe!
