Carrot And Apple Breakfast Smoothie

・ 1 1/2 cups unsweetened apple juice

・ 3 medium carrots peeled and sliced

・ 3/4 cups boiling water

・ 2 stick celery

Pour 1 cup of unsweetened apple juice into an ice cube tray and freeze. Cook the carrots in the 3/4 cups of boiling water for about 20 minutes or until carrots are extremely tender. Allow to cool.

Once the apple juice is frozen and the carrots are cooked and cooled to room temperature, pour the carrots and the water into a blender, add the 1/2 cup of apple juice, the frozen apple juice from the ice cube trays and pulse until well blended. Pour into 2 glasses garnish with celery and enjoy.

This breakfast smoothie is under 100 calories, and by combining apples, carrots, and the celery stick it is also extremely nutritious loaded with vitamins and minerals. It is also surprisingly good tasting and filling as well.

Cinnamon Apple Smoothie

This breakfast smoothie is made from applesauce and fruit juices with just a touch of cinnamon to add a touch of flavor.


・ 2 Cups of Unsweetened Applesauce chilled

・ 1 cup of unsweetened apple juice chilled

・ 1 cup of unsweetened orange juice chilled

・ 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon


In a blender combine all the ingredients, pulsing until the smoothie is of the desired consistency. Pour into chilled serving glasses. Makes 3 to 4 servings depending on size.

The applesauce in this smoothie adds some much needed thickness to the drink and also helps to give you a more full feeling without making you feel stuffed. This smoothie can be enjoyed by itself for breakfast or with a small breakfast muffin.
