This is for those chocolate lovers who want a low fat chocolate chip pie recipe. There is almost no one in the world who doesn't love chocolate. Whether it is Chocolate chip cookies, or chocolate mousse everyone wants dessert with this sweet treat is served.

Unfortunately most recipes contain cocoa or one of its derivatives is usually loaded with fat which makes these wonderful desserts a no no for those who are serious about heart health and a low fat diet.

While no chocolate dessert is going to be totally fat free. There are some that are lower and fat than others and here is one Pie recipe that is loaded with cacao and extremely low in fat making it possible for even those on a low fat diet to indulge in a small piece.

Low Fat Chocolate/Chocolate chip Pie

This Pie recipe is easy to whip up and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Ingredients-Chocolate Chip Pie Recipe:

· 1- 4ounce box of Jello instant chocolate pudding mix or sugar free chocolate pudding mix.

· 1 ¾ cup 1% milk

· 4 ounces of low fat cream cheese softened

· 2 ounces of low fat frozen whip cream thawed

· 1 reduced fat graham cracker crust

· 3 to 4 Tablespoon mini Chocolate chips

Chocolate Chip Pie Recipe:

Directions:

Mix Jello pudding following the directions using the 1 ¾ cup 1 % milk and set aside. In a large mixing bowl beat the 4 ounces of cream cheese until smooth and creamy (Helpful Hint: Heating the cream cheese in a microwave for 10 or 15 seconds will make it easier to beat.) Slowly add the pudding and mix in well. Once that is all mixed together fold in the low fat whip cream and then the mini Chocolate chips. Spoon into the pie crust, and refrigerate one hour or until serving time.

As you can see the fat content in this dish was reduced by half or more simply by substitute ingredients that were low in fat for those with a higher fat content. There is nothing difficult about doing this and will allow you to turn a variety of dishes into a low fat dish that everyone in your family can enjoy.

However, because this pie will add a bit amount of fat when combined with other foods, it is best to serve this dessert on a night when your family enjoys an almost fat free meal such as grilled fish and garden vegetables. That way those on a low fat diet can truly enjoy this dessert without having to count fat grams.

This Chocolate chip Pie recipe only takes minutes to put together tastes great and is a wonderful ending to any meal or a nice treat to serve to guests with coffee.
