Cherry Dump Cake Recipe:
2 standard sized cans of cherry pie filling (select the sugar-free version)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (12 ounce) can of sugar-free cola
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 box of devil's food chocolate cake mix
Spray PAM in a baking dish-9 inch x 13 inch size
Add ½ the cake mix and ½ the cola to the bottom of this dish.
Now add the cherry pie filling to the baking dish.
Sprinkle cinnamon on top of the pie filling.
Add the remaining cake mix to the dish.
Mix the cola and vanilla extract together and then add the liquid to the baking dish.
You do not have to stir, just ‘dump' the flavored cola into the dish.(Most people pour the cola evenly over the top of the cake mix.)
Use an appropriate lid or a piece of aluminum foil to cover the top of the baking dish.
Bake in oven on the middle rack for a period of 15-20 minutes.
Remove the cover from the dish and continue baking the Cherry Dump cake for another 20-30 minutes.
After the cake has cooled you can dust with confectioner's sugar and top with a few pitted cherries before serving.
